Wine Flavor Profile
Black Duck Durif is a full-bodied red wine with aromas of ripe black fruits, pepper, clove and oak. Luscious and well rounded, the palate has rich black plum, black cherry and violet flavors. Toasty spice and smooth tannins frame the long finish.

The masterful Sam Trimboli—aka Mr. Medals, the winemaker behind some of our most-loved Australian wines—is at it again. That’s him below.

His fan-favorite Black Duck Durif arrives with 96 points, a Top Gold medal and the Best Riverina Durif trophy from the local Riverina Wine Show, along with a double-gold medal from the China Wine & Spirits Awards.

Showcasing Sam’s favorite grape, Durif (along with splashes of Merlot and Shiraz), this lusciously rich red was also aged for six months in American oak. It’s a perfectly delicious example of Sam’s handiwork, which has earned him more than 30 international trophies and roughly 400 Australian awards during his winemaking career.

Full bodied and well rounded, it boasts layers of rich black cherry and plum, with hints of violet and toasty spice notes. Serve it with equally full-flavored meals—from barbecue classics to hearty stews.

Better hurry, though. This hugely acclaimed ‘black duck’ will take flight from our cellars all too quickly.
