Flavor Profile
Chilling red wines is one of the wine world’s fastest growing trends—but this is no passing craze. More and more folks are discovering the refreshing joys of light reds best sipped at cellar or fridge temp. That’s why we’re thrilled to introduce Chilled Cinsault, a fantastic red-fruited pour from one of our favourite South African wineries, with cheeky serving instructions right on its label.
Journey’s End, owned by the Gabb family, is a quality-driven operation that’s helped put South Africa on the fine wine map—with acclaim from top shows like the International Wine Challenge and the Decanter World Wine Awards, plus plaudits from critics like Jancis Robinson.
Winemaker Leon Esterhuizen has taken Cinsault to create a light, refreshing red wine that makes a delicious alternative to Pinot Noir. While the grape is perhaps better known for adding softness to the famously rich reds of Châteauneuf-du-Pape or peppery spice to a Provence rosé, here, it’s flying solo for you taste in all its pure, juicy glory.
With lovely soft raspberry and strawberry flavors, along with a tickle of spice, it’s like summer in a glass. Chill (obviously!) and enjoy with charcuterie and cheeses.
