Beyond the Label

Hailing from northern Italy’s premium Piedmont, our best-selling Il Poeta wines showcase some of this region’s finest reds (like Barolo and Barbaresco). It’s fitting, then, that the equally popular white release gives you a taste of Gavi, Piedmont’s No. 1 white.

Like all our Il Poeta exclusives, this elegant Gavi hails from grape grower Natale Seghesio and talented winemaker Paolo Sartirano. Quality-driven Natale (aka ‘il Poeta’) is among the last of Piedmont’s traditional Masuè sharecroppers, and not only tends to his vines, but famously writes a commemorative poem that tells the rhythm and story of the vintage (you’ll see it on the label). In 2020, Natale’s Cortese (the star grape of Gavi) thrived, producing a hallmark citrus vibrancy and complex aromas.

Working with Natale’s top-notch grapes, Paolo took over in the cellar. As you’ll taste, he’s captured everything that’s beautiful about Gavi here—delicate white blossom aromas, crisp citrus characters, and ripe, orchard-fruit flavors. Balanced and refreshing, with a long, mineral-driven finish, Il Poeta will make a mouthwatering aperitif or delicious partner for seafood, poultry dishes, and more.

Very limited cases imported—secure your share of this fine Gavi today.
