Beyond the Label

Red blends are the third most popular wine style in the U.S. right now (behind Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon), and this is one of the most impressive examples we’ve found. As illustrious as the vineyards from which the grapes were sourced, it hails from a historic family and a small, premium enclave in California’s famed Napa Valley.

The Moskowite family have been farmers in the Napa Valley since 1917. (Fun fact: during Prohibition, they made “sacramental” wine in their famous stone cellar, which still stands today despite the Golden State’s frequent earthquakes.) Thanks to the efforts of fourth-generation proprietors George and Ann, the family has found new success over the last couple decades and is earning a much-deserved reputation for their world-class wines.

Their vineyards lie in Napa’s Capell Valley, nestled between the prestigious Oakville and Atlas Peak subregions. The high altitude and rocky, well-draining soils produce ripe, complex grapes, so the family had their pick of top-notch fruit. They settled on a unique blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel, Grenache, and Merlot – aka, a red wine lover’s dream.

Six months’ aging in fine French oak barrels imparted toasty spice and mocha notes to the wine’s sumptuous berry and black currant flavors. This lush, full-bodied red can take you through an entire meal – from cheese plates before dinner to a main course of roasted beef or hearty pastas to dark chocolate desserts.

No matter how you plan to enjoy it, this Illustrious Napa red is guaranteed to impress. Order your share today.
