Flavor Profile
Well-made Viognier like this stunner is a very special thing. Especially when it comes from a very special family.
Lemon Hill was crafted exclusively for you at Don Sebastiani’s latest venture (his Sonoma boutique, Don Sebastiani & Sons) by white wine dynamo Gloria Mercado-Martin. It’s made with top-notch grapes from Lodi – Wine Enthusiast's Region of the Year 2015 – an up-and-coming appellation that’s giving nearby Napa and Sonoma a run for their money on quality and value.
The Sebastiani clan are a fixture this area, and have been for generations. So when the excellent 2016 vintage came along (the next in a string of superb harvests), they were prepared to embrace it. The grapes enjoyed a long and near-perfect growing season, and this extended ‘hang time’ helped the fruit develop great color and concentrated flavors with finely balanced structure and acidity.
As its name suggests, Lemon Hill is pure California sunshine in the glass. Aromas of white flowers, ripe banana, pineapple, freshly grated lime zest and ginger introduce a palate redolent with lemon, pink grapefruit and orange. It’s clean, crisp and refreshing – just the thing to serve with spicy Thai or Indian takeout.
