The revolution at Raymond
Since Jean-Charles Boisset took over (and poached Far Niente’s Cab ace Stephanie Putnam) quality has skyrocketed. In 2012, Wine Enthusiast named them their American Winery of the Year. This was also the year we finally persuaded them to produce a District Collection bottling exclusively for us. Now it’s back with the new 2018 release, and showing all the class of its esteemed district …

“The Pauillac of California”
That’s how The World Atlas of Wine describes Rutherford. “This is Cabernet country par excellence” and home to Napa Valley’s most sought-after reds. The Bench Press 2018 is a classic example of the style: full-bodied and complex, with exuberant black currant fruit, plus lovely cedar notes from top-quality French oak barrels.

19 months in oak – only 300 cases produced
This is hands down the Napa Cab arrival of the year – and it’s sure to sell out quickly (again!). But for those lucky enough to reserve a share, this will cellar well through 2030.
