Founded in 1970, Raymond Vineyards is “one of the iconic wineries of Napa,” says top critic Robert Parker. It’s also the name behind many of our most popular California wines. And they’ve sent a very special treat for you.
When current proprietor, Jean-Charles Boisset, purchased Raymond in 2009, he found a treasure trove of wines tucked away in the cellar. He and head winemaker, Stephanie Putnam, have left this ‘Library Collection’ undisturbed, releasing the wines only when they reach their perfectly mature peaks.
Now, you can be among a select few to taste their rare 1982 ‘Library Release,’ crafted with Cabernet Sauvignon from Raymond’s original vineyards in Rutherford and other prized Napa Valley districts. At nearly 40 years old, it’s exceptionally mellow and overflows with rich dark fruit and earthy cedar nuances.
Be advised that the cork might be crumbly – a totally natural feature in a mature wine like this. If it breaks, simply decant the wine, slowly rotating the bottle to catch the cork pieces in the shoulder. Decanting the wine will also help unleash its full aroma and flavor complexity. Afterwards, serve it with roasted red meats, hearty pastas, or winter stews.
We only have 300 bottles of this rare 1982 Napa Cab. Act quickly to secure your share.
