Beyond the Label

How do you make the quintessential all-American wine? Take flavor-packed Zinfandel, California’s signature red, and age it in barrels previously used to mature bourbon, America’s famed whiskey. Bingo. You have a rich blockbuster that’s as American as it gets. Even better: it comes in a magnum-sized, 1.5-liter bottle.

Named after the year charred barrels were first used to age bourbon, 1826 is a landmark release, crafted by acclaimed winemaker Adam Popp. Something of a whiskey aficionado, Adam selected heavily charred bourbon barrels for the distinct, smoky, mocha edge they add to Zinfandel’s plush black currant and ripe blackberry flavors. The resulting wine is very impressive – especially when served with barbecued meats or hearty stews.

Bourbon barrel-aged wines are seriously popular right now (for good reason, as you’ll taste), and we have limited bottles to share. Act quickly to secure your MAGNUM of this exciting California Zinfandel.
