When it comes to balance, charm and full, unrestrained drinking pleasure, few red wines can match Beaujolais. Made in a French region of the same name from the Gamay grape, they’re known to be fruit forward and immediately compelling, regardless of age. And Domaine des Nazins Brouilly, a Cru Beaujolais, sourced exclusively from one of the area’s 10 recognized “crus,” represents the best of the bunch. Brouilly is the southernmost and most extensive of the Beaujolais crus, and like the rest of the region, specializes in Gamay. Unlike the other areas however, its expressions of the grape can be quite robust, even weighty on the palate.
