Beyond the Label

If you’re a fan of stylish Italian whites, then you’re in for a real treat with this new discovery. The Marche region might be most famous for whites made from Trebbiano and Verdicchio, but Bianchello is becoming increasingly popular among in-the-know wine fans.

Your delicious taste was crafted by Claudio Morelli, whose family has made wine in the Marche for five generations. His family estate lies in the premium Bianchello del Metauro sub-zone. Located mere miles from the crystal-blue Adriatic Sea, the Bianchello vines benefit from a warm climate (key to helping this late-ripening variety develop pure fruit flavors), as well as the cooling influence of the sea and Metauro river, which preserve the grapes’ freshness.

Add in Claudio’s winemaking expertise, and it should come as no surprise that his ‘Superiore’ release has been rated 4 (out of 5) stars by both the Vinibuoni d’Italia guide and the Italian Sommelier Association of the Marche. A classic expression of Bianchello, the wine offers delicate white flower and ripe orchard fruit aromas and flavors. Elegant and fresh, it’s delightful with seafood, white-sauced pastas, or summer salads.

Bianchello is so popular with locals that the bottles almost never make it Stateside. Hurry to be among the first (and only!) to taste this highly rated Italian white.
