As Burgundy lovers know all too well, prices have never been higher—and yields have rarely been lower. So we’re thrilled to offer this pristinely aged Library Release—at a really smart price.
It hails from the historic house of Albert Bichot (founded in 1831) and the superb 2014 vintage. Wine Spectator rated the year 95 points overall, and critic Neal Martin says the reds of Nuits-Saint-Georges offer “a great deal in 2014…it’s where I would be spending my money.”
And here’s the crazy thing about this particular 2014. These 500 cases were originally destined for the First Class cabin of an elite airline, but due to the decline in air travel, they had to cancel the order. And our man on the ground, Jehan, swept in to secure all the cases.
Nuits-Saint-Georges is where insiders go for top value in the Côtes de Nuits—the most fabled region in the world for Pinot Noir. And this Library Release is just entering its peak drinking window. Here’s winemaker Cyrille Jacquelin on what you can expect in the glass:
“The wine greets you with fine aromas of fresh cherry and red berry, plus hints of truffle and spice emerging, thanks to over six years of aging in barrel and bottle. A wine best suited for the dinner table, it will be delicious upon arrival and age well for another three years (or more) with careful cellaring. Enjoy!”
First come, first served.
