Beyond the Label

The Fernández de Manzanos family have been making prize-winning Rioja wines for over 120 years. Today, young brothers Victor and David (los hermanos) carry on the family’s great tradition in honor of their late father.

For their silky, fruit-forward tinto, Victor and David literally had their pick of premium grapes. And thanks to the high altitude of their vineyards, the Tempranillo grapes produced a wine of extra intensity and elegance. (Higher altitudes mean cooler temperatures, which helps prevent grapes from over-ripening.) Partially aged in French oak for eight months, it offers hints of spice (licorice and clove), along with juicy plum and strawberry flavors.

As you pour Los Hermanos for friends or family, you can tell them that it’s also won a silver medal from Mundus Vini. Then, serve alongside grilled lamb or pork and roasted vegetables.
