Beyond the Label

“Spain is firing on all cylinders,” says Wine Spectator – and Rioja is home to the country’s most famous wines. Though still best known for its reds, Rioja has been steadily building a reputation for its zippy, modern whites, aka vinos blancos. And this new discovery really got our tasting room team excited …

It's a brand-new blanco release from the Chavarri family, Rioja experts for over 100 years (and makers of some of our most popular Rioja reds). They hand-picked only the best Viura – Rioja’s leading white grape – from their prime-sited vineyards in the premium Alavesa district. From grape to glass, they gave the wine the total white-glove treatment. And it shows.

What’s in store in the glass? First, inviting aromas of peach, citrus, and jasmine blossom greet your nose. Then, prepare for a lovely, seriously elegant first sip, with more ripe orchard and tropical fruit notes and a long, fresh finish. This is THE white for seafood – from simple grilled fish to classic, shrimp-filled paella. Also lovely with chicken, cheeses, and more.
