Flavor Profile

Wine Flavor Profile
Numerada 38 is a medium- to full-bodied red with vibrant strawberry and red cherry aromas, edged by classic hints of leather, spice, and vanilla. Look for more of the same bold flavors on the palate; silky tannins introduce a long, satisfying finish.
Wine Food Pairings
Beef, pork, firm cheeses, red-sauced pastas, vegetarian meals.
Beyond the Label

Under the trappings of its regular label, this fine red never sells for less than $40. Until now. (And only if you’re quick …)

Spain’s Ribera del Duero is, “to wine connoisseurs ... the Spanish region to drink,” says Decanter. It’s more expensive and more coveted than Rioja. But we’re not talking about any old part of Ribera. The little gem you see here is from their famous ‘Golden Mile,’ a tiny, super-premium stretch of land, where nearly every bodega commands hefty price tags for their powerful, barrel-aged wines. Our intrepid (and well-connected) Spanish wine expert, Beth, struck a deal with one of the biggest names here. And not for their ‘second wine.’ Not a wine made with grapes from another vineyard. This is the real McCoy.

As you can see, you’re getting a very friendly price, too.

The wine is made with pure Tempranillo – aka Tinto Fino to locals – hand harvested from the officially spectacular 2016 vintage, which delivered perfect weather and sky-high quality. Yields from this breathtaking vintage were also quite large, which is why the estate was so eager to give Beth a deal; they were literally running out of room in their cellars!

Aged in fine oak for 24 months, its deep, dark color draws you in to lovely aromas of ripe berries and spice. Look forward to layers of rich plum and cherry in every sip. Bold, intense, and framed by toasty oak and trademark velvety tannins – it’s a match made in heaven for grilled or roasted red meats, firm cheeses, or garlic-heavy stews.

We have a thirsty Spanish wine fan base, so our advice is to get your orders in soon to avoid missing out.
