Crafted by local star (and Italian Pinot Grigio supremo) Giuseppe Secchi, Sentiero dei Pini boasts a long history of acclaim and wins rave reviews from our customers every vintage. But that’s not the only reason you need to get some of this on your table.
The wine takes its name from a very special site that was once home to an ancient Roman temple, approached via a spectacular spiraling path lined with pine trees (‘Sentiero dei Pini’ means ‘trail of the pines’). The hill also provided a perfect vantage point for advancing Roman legions, as their last point of call before heading deep into the mountain terrain. Today, this precious plot is occupied by carefully tended Pinot Grigio vines that yield whites as fresh as an alpine stream. And Giuseppe has first pick of the grapes.
Gilbert & Gaillard judges loved the 2020 release so much, they gave it a gold medal and raved: “Expressive nose revealing citrus fruits, yellow plum and a tangy note. Harmonious palate with appealingly chiselled, pure flavors showing lovely intensity and persistence. A wonderful fleshy, easy-drinking, modern wine.”
