Our 10 Best Rosé Wines for Summer

Discover a lineup of pink wine picks to pour, swirl and sip this season.

July 9, 2025

By Candice, Personal Wine Advisor

Here at WSJ Wine, we firmly believe rosé is a delicious choice all year long and it would be downright silly to limit its consumption to June, July and August.

And yet, none of us would deny there really is something extra enjoyable about sipping rosé wine in summer.

So with the season fast approaching, we got together and assembled a list of our top 10 fair weather rosés, from pretty, everyday pours and elegant picks designed to impress, to punchy pinks with rich, food-friendly flavors.

Keep reading to learn all about them, then reach out to let us know your favorites.

Domaine du Mas Ensoleillé Rosé 2024

Let’s start things off easy with a rosé that simply couldn’t get any more summery. This Provençal pink has the bright spirit of the season built right into it—ensoleillé is French for “sunny.” A blend of premium old-vine Grenache and Syrah, it offers delicate strawberry aromas and a palate of red berry, orange zest and passion fruit flavors that are versatile enough for whatever the season brings your way.

Maison Maillet Rosé 2024

This blushing beauty has a similar easy-drinking, all-around charm we just can’t seem to get enough of. The estate behind it sits close to the renowned appellation of Bandol (the wines of which are some of the most expensive in all of Provence), where long hours of blue skies, blissful sunshine and cooling Mediterranean breezes combine to produce refreshing summer berry flavors and bright citrus tones.

Violette de Mireval Rosé 2024

By now, it’s obvious that we love basically any rosé wine to emerge from Provence. But this lovely expression is the first on our list to prove the rest of France can make equally delicious pinks. Crafted in southern France’s under-the-radar Comté Tolosan region from a local grape called Négrette, it offers a pretty, pale pink color, exotic, citrus-tinged flavors, and trademark notes of spice and violet (hence the name).

w/o Nero d'Avola Rosato 2023

If you ask us, all pink wine inspires happiness, but this Sicilian rosé is a choice you can feel even better about. A vegan wine, it’s made from organically grown, sustainably farmed Nero d’Avola grapes and bottled in ultra-eco-friendly packaging—we’re talking sustainable corks, recycled ‘Wild Glass’ (which has a unique green tint) and minimal labeling, so the bottle is easy for you to recycle, too. The wine is delicious, to boot, with light and crisp flavors of raspberry, peach and grapefruit.

Bees Knees Rosé 2024

This buzzy rosé is another do-gooder. It hails from Journey’s End estate, South Africa’s first B Corp Certified winery and vineyard, and a former winner of The Drinks Business’s Ethical Company of the Year award. There, the Gabb family and team hand-pick Grenache from ideally situated vineyards strung across the slopes of Citrusdal Mountain to create a pink wine that’s priced right for everyday pouring and well-suited to just about any summer situation. You can look forward to balanced flavors of strawberry, raspberry, cherry and citrus, with just a hint of rose petal on the palate.

Moulin de Pontfract Rosé 2024

Don’t be fooled by the subtle pink shade of this rosé. It may be an easy-breezy-beautiful, light-bodied Provençal pink, but it sure delivers a whole lot of floral and citrus deliciousness. The crispy stunner hails from a 300-year-old domaine in the classic Provençal village of Correns, where vines receive ample sunlight and excellent air circulation, ensuring grapes ripen to perfection. You can expect expressive floral and berry aromas that lead into a palate of refreshing ripe grapefruit and vibrant strawberry flavors.

Farinelli Rosato 2024

Made in central Italy’s Abruzzo region, this rosato is juicy, fruity and impactful—without a ton of alcohol. Clocking in at just 11% ABV, it has a dazzling deep pink hue, ripe strawberry aromas and a palate of vivid red fruits that begs for another sip. It’s the sort of pink you can keep pouring all day long as you lounge by the pool, refine your low-and-slow barbecue recipes or compete in a lengthy lawn game tournament.

Cabalié Rosé 2024

Could this be the best rosé wine in our range? A lot of you, dear customers, seem to think so! No surprise, given it’s made by Hervé Sabardeil, who has a knack for creating crowd-pleasing styles. For this cuvée, he blended Grenache and Syrah from the rugged hills of southern France and matured the wine on its lees for several weeks, resulting in a round and luscious, aromatic rosé with grenadine flavors complemented by a hint of pepper. With more verve than most of the pink wines on this list, it’s a great pick for grilled fare, spicy charcuterie platters, or extra creamy potato or macaroni salads.

Le Rosé de La Clarière 2024

Summer may be lazy and carefree, but it doesn’t mean there won’t be times you’ll want to impress somebody… or treat yourself, honestly. This small-batch rosé is just the thing for those moments. It was crafted by the expert team at Château La Clarière, a hugely acclaimed, quality-obsessed estate in the Castillon area of Bordeaux, France. A serious and seriously delicious, elegant rosé, it’s a bit of a rare bird in a region more known for somewhat lackluster pinks. Sip it alongside a nice meal under the summer stars or with good company, or linger over a glass on a well-deserved Summer Friday.

PS Pétillant Rosé

P.S. Don’t forget the pink bubbles! A pretty, little fizzy pink crafted by sparkling wine specialist Laurent Mingaud, PS is everything we want to sip come summer: subtle strawberry and lemon flavors set around a mineral core, a hint of sweetness and invigorating effervescence (of course). It’s a type of sparkling wine known as pétillant naturel—or just pét-nat, for short—made via a process called méthode ancestrale. Rather than induce a second fermentation to create bubbles, Laurent simply bottled the wine when it was only partially fermented, resulting in a gentle froth that perfectly carries its Provençal flavors.

Now that you know our choices, browse our full collection to find your own best rosé wine for summer.
