When your wines leave our warehouse, they are sent via FedEx or other courier (depending on your shipping state) to a regional distribution “hub.” Once the wines arrive there, your tracking number is generated and we will email you with an alert so you can begin tracking your order.

Adult ID Verification is the process of obtaining an adult signature and the sighting of an approved form of identification to prove the age (+21) of the recipient of the alcohol delivery. The adult verification process is an important regulatory and safety requirement to ensure that alcohol is not delivered to minors.

The fee for Adult ID Verification is $2.79 per order (see What is Included in Shipping Charges question below for more detail).

The fee is applied per order. An order could include several bottles or several cases (or could be a single bottle if that's all that was ordered).

In all states in the U.S. where alcohol delivery to a consumer is permitted, it is a legal requirement to acquire an adult signature at the point of delivery and it is also a common requirement fore the delivery agent (e.g. Fedex) to ask for an approved form of identification to prove that the recipient is over 21 years of age. The delivery agent charges for this service, and we pass some of this cost to our customers to promote transparency.

The delivery agents that we use charge us a fee to acquire an adult signature and to sight a relevant form of Adult ID at the point of delivery. With the escalating cost of providing the wine service overall, we decided to start passing some of this specific cost on to our customers, rather than increasing the price of the wine product themselves.

Advantage members pay the Adult ID Verification fee on every order. Advantage Members receive free delivery for their membership, a voucher for their birthday and other promotional benefits from time to time (see What is Included in Shipping Charges question below for more detail).

There are no exceptions to the application of Adult ID Verification. The adult verification process is an important regulatory and safety requirement to ensure alcohol is not delivered to minors. The Adult ID Verification fee applies to all orders in all states regardless of the size of the order itself. It applies to all wine club orders (including introductory cases) and all ad-hoc wine purchases made by a customer.

Occasionally, part of your order may arrive before the rest. Depending on the size of your order or stock availability, some wines may be shipped separately and delivered on different days. You’ll receive an email with a tracking number for each shipment, and our warehouse team works hard to get your full order to you as quickly as possible.

If you can't be home to sign for delivery, you have a couple of options. Many of our customers have their wine sent to their workplace. You can also have your wine delivered to a FedEx location near you. To do this, head to your shipping confirmation email and click on the tracking number. You will be taken to a page where you can opt to have your wines held. Follow the prompts to select the most convenient location for you. Once delivered to your FedEx location, your wine will be held for five days before it is returned to us.

Remember, the signature of an adult 21 or older is required to pick up wine.

FedEx Hold at Location lets you pick up your wine at a nearby FedEx site. Just choose Hold at Location at checkout and select the location most convenient for you. Once your order arrives, it will be held for five days before being returned to us.
