Beyond the Label

The tiny village of Sancerre in France’s Loire Valley has been the spiritual home of Sauvignon Blanc for centuries. It owes its success to chalky and flinty soils, a cool climate and gently sloping vineyards—all of which bring out an intensity of aroma and raciness of flavor that has made Sancerre coveted the world over.

This one’s really special. It hails from the critically acclaimed Domaine Daniel Reverdy and arrives with a gold medal from a top international competition. It’s also guaranteed delightful—look for aromas of fresh lemon and grapefruit, light grassy notes and a hint of roasted almonds. The palate is filled with white peach and zesty citrus and finishes with a trademark, juicy elegance.

We’ve been championing the wines of the Reverdy family since 2002, when they produced their first estate-bottled wines. Being sticklers for premium quality, they have just eight hectares of vines. While Daniel Reverdy tends the vineyards, his son Cyrille—having returned home after years of training in Burgundy—looks after the winemaking. He named this exclusive ‘Cuvée Malie’ after his daughters, Manon and Julie. It’s a classic match for goat cheese (another Sancerre specialty) or fresh seafood.

This is a perfect opportunity to taste a top-notch Sancerre for a reasonable price. Very limited cases—secure your share today.
