Le Bordeaux de Tour du Roch-Milon (magnum) 2017

But don't worry, you'll find plenty more handpicked wines here.
Thanks to stellar, back-to-back vintages, everyone is scrambling to get their hands on the best Bordeaux values. And with 2017 clocking in as France’s smallest harvest since 1945, the best-tasting values are getting harder and harder to come by. Enter: our man on the ground, Jean-Marc Sauboua, who swooped in to secure the new vintage of this serial gold medalist just for you.
Jean-Marc is good friends with Pascale Peyronie, owner of historic, under-the-radar, Château Tour du Roch-Milon. Her Pauillac estate is located across the street from prestigious First Growth, Château Latour. And her vines perch on the same gravelly ridge as another famed First Growth, Château Mouton Rothschild. (In fact, they even share vineyards – Pascale’s caught Mouton harvesters accidentally taking grapes from her vines. Today the stakes are color-coded to avoid confusion!)
Pascale knows how much our customers love her wine, so she readily agreed to again part ways with a small lot, this time of her silky 2017. An 80/20 blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, it has 12 months in French oak, plus a dose of “juice” from her top-shelf Pauillac release (which starts at $60). The last two releases in a row have scored gold medals from leading wine guide, Gilbert & Gaillard. Look forward to all the same incredible class in her 2017, with its layers of classic cassis and plum, plus notes of cedar and cinnamon-clove.
Considering your pricey alternatives, the caliber of Pascale’s grapes, and the super-high demand for this fantastic vintage, this can be on your dinner table for a remarkable price.
Friendly reminder: 2017 was France’s smallest harvest since 1945, so you’ll have to be extra quick to secure your share.
