Beyond the Label

Talk about an impressive dinner party wine …

Start with the renowned estate. Owned by the Boisset family (of the famed Boisset house in Burgundy), DeLoach is a 12-time Wine & Spirits Winery of the Year. Then there’s the remarkable vintage. 2018 was yet another stellar harvest for the Golden State.

For this Private Collection Pinot Noir, renowned winemaker Katie Carter hand-selected fruit from top vineyards throughout the state, including premium Sonoma Coast, a beautifully rugged area of California that’s emerging as a haven for lush, fruit-filled Pinot Noirs. As you’ll taste, the region’s bright, sunny days and a cooling, foggy Pacific influence are ideal for fragrant reds with real depth. No wonder this gorgeous Pinot won a silver medal from the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition, plus kudos from two other top American shows.

Katie’s Pinot delivers aromas of ripe cherry and raspberry, with touches of clove. Layers of rich dark cherry, plum, violet, and baking spices unwind on the palate, with a round, silky texture. Aside from being a terrific aperitif to hand your red-wine-drinking friends, this superb 2018 (like all fine Pinot Noir) is excellent with food. Bright and juicy, it’s a delicious match with everything from meaty fish to roasted turkey and duck.

Very few cases available.
