We’re very excited to bring you this new rosé ‘sibling’ to our wildly popular CA-BEAR-NAY Cabernet Sauvignon.
Both are crafted by the talented Doug Roosevelt, of course. When he was hunting for the perfect Cabernet grapes to craft this luscious and fruity rosé, he made a beeline for the Paso Robles region. (It’s home to some of the Golden State’s boldest Cabs—including his deeply rich CA-BEAR-NAY red.)
What’s with the cheeky name? After years of puzzlement, the California vinegrower behind this delicious Cabernet finally solved his vineyard mystery. Each growing season, he noticed whole bunches of Merlot disappearing from his vines. He finally put up a security camera and discovered a family of bears eating the grapes. Because the Merlot ripened first, the bears gobbled it all up, leaving only his Cabernet.
Doug was impressed with the fruit quality (even better than usual thanks to the stellar 2019 vintage) and so charmed by the story that he named the rosé in honor of those pesky bears. It offers a beautiful, deep-pink color, along with vibrant berry aromas and succulent strawberry and raspberry flavors. Guaranteed to brighten your day.
Like its red counterparts, this bold Cabernet rosé will be delicious with barbecue. Try it alongside juicy burgers (beef, turkey or black bean), saucy pork ribs, grilled chicken, veggie kebabs and more. For a more traditional rosé pairing, go for crisp summer salads or a plate of hummus and fresh-cut veggies. And, of course, this bright pink (with a great story!) makes a fun aperitif too.
