ROC Clairet 2021

Clairet is the original, dark-hued Bordeaux rosé—almost red, but just as refreshing. ROC is a super-juicy, fresh take on the classic made by the sustainability-obsessed revolutionaries at Gentle Riot.

Gentle Riot’s mission is to pioneer wines that challenge the norm and restore the land. They do it by championing visionary winemakers and small growers who use traditional, sustainable farming methods handed down from generation to generation.

For this delicious Clairet, winemaker Clément d’Agostino used deliciously ripe Merlot from a top estate with sustainability at their core. It lies just across the river from Saint-Émilion and shares the same pure-limestone soils. Clément gave it a short maceration (aka fermentation with the juice on the skins) to make a juicier, fruitier and mouthwatering expression of Merlot.

Chill the wine for 15-20 minutes in the fridge to let the wine’s deep cherry and cassis flavors really shine. It’s sure to win the hearts of red wine and rosé lovers alike.

Sip it on its own or serve it with grilled salmon, rich BBQ and more summer favorites.
