Saracosa 2018

But don't worry, you'll find plenty more handpicked wines here.

Flavor Profile
Like all top Chianti producers, the Barbanera family also crafts a small amount of ‘Super Tuscan,’ a mix of Italy’s native stars and international grapes like Cabernet.
The family’s flagship Vecciano cuvée has been hailed by top Italian critic Luca Maroni as “one of the all-time great Super Tuscan reds.” Saracosa is an exclusive (far more affordable) release showcasing the same blend: cherry-laced Sangiovese, firm Cabernet Sauvignon, and soft, plummy Merlot.
Backed by an already-impressive award pedigree (and supported by the stellar 2018 vintage), the new edition was rated 94 points by critic Luca Maroni – for the second vintage in a row!
Wondering what to serve with this delicious selection? You could take a cue from winemaker Sofia Barbanera and the rest of the family: they like to enjoy Saracosa with the local salami or wild boar ragù. For something a little more familiar, a rich spaghetti Bolognese will be delicious.
Whatever you choose, Saracosa is sure to impress – secure your share now.
