Beyond the Label

Spicy, red-fruited Malbec is Argentina’s star red grape and commands legions of fans. In rosé form, it takes on a juicy, berry-rich freshness that always hits the spot.

We’re particularly excited about this one – it’s the pink sister to our popular Ascencion Malbec, arriving direct from Argentina’s oldest estate and some of the world’s highest vineyards … along with a tasty twist.

After working his magic in the cellar to create a fruit-packed pink Malbec, winemaker Jorge Noguera decided to add a dash of Torrontés, Argentina’s signature white grape. “I wanted to give the wine a pretty, floral edge,” he says. “I am very pleased with the final wine, and I think it will be a perfect part of any summer picnic.”

Mission accomplished (although we’d recommend tipping back this rosado all year long – so stock up now!). Ascencion delivers fresh-picked orange blossom and strawberry aromas, along with intense red cherry, red citrus, and melon notes, plus a whistle-clean finish. It’s a guaranteed crowd-pleaser and extremely versatile. Pair with burgers (chicken or beef), salads, all manner of grilled fare, tomato-based stews and soups … almost anywhere your culinary imagination will take you. (Yes, take out too.)
