Flavor Profile
From the Schroeder family, who has braved the extreme elements in Argentina’s southerly Patagonia region since 1927, Bariloche Malbec 2023 is a medium-bodied, fruit-forward red that bursts with vibrant berry and spice notes.
Though the family's passion for (and expertise in) winemaking is clear, this Malbec is inspired by their other obsession: dinosaurs.
When the Schroeders built a new winery in 2001, they unearthed 75-million-year-old fossils of a previously undiscovered dinosaur species, later dubbed Panamericansaurus Schroederi in their honor.
Named after the valley where the family’s vineyards lie, Bariloche pays tribute to the discovery. Made from hand-picked Malbec grapes, it opens with aromas of ripe blackberry and cherry lifted by violet and clove spice notes. Rich and concentrated, the palate delivers similar flavors across a velvet-smooth finish.
