Always produced in limited quantities, white Châteauneuf-du-Pape is a pretty special thing—and Château Sixtine Blanc is a truly delicious example. Full-bodied and charismatic with heady floral aromas and a palate of ripe fruits baked into toasty brioche, it's a bottle you won't want to miss.
It comes to us from the cellars of the legendary Diffonty family, who’ve been winegrowers in the Rhône Valley since 1673 and have played a big role in defining the region’s wine style since day one. (Founder Félicien Désiré helped establish the Châteauneuf-du-Pape AOC in the 1920s!)
Fourth-generation proprietor Jean Marc Diffonty took the reins back in 1993 and has been breathing new life into the estate ever since, refining viticultural techniques, doubling-down on quality and producing some of the winery’s most compelling wines to date.
Of course, the reds are exquisite, earning serious acclaim year in and year out. But it’s this white that really wows. Previous vintages have earned a pair of 90-point ratings from Rhône expert Jeb Dunnuck and Decanter, plus a 92-point rave from Wine Spectator. After tasting the just-landed 2023 release, we can confirm that it’s equally impressive.
You can expect lively aromas of white peach, honeysuckle and orange blossom to pour into a palate of more white peach laced with ripe star fruit, spiced pear and yeasty accents.
