Located in southeast France, the Rhône Valley produces some of the country’s most exciting and flavorful red wines. You’re in for a real treat with Cuvée Prestigieux Côtes-du-Rhône, which hails from a boutique family estate.
Winemaker Laurent Guillot is the fourth generation of his family to make world-class French wines. His family started out in the Burgundy region, but in 1911, his great-grandfather was lured to the Rhône Valley and purchased his first vineyard there. Laurent proudly continues the family tradition with his elegant Cuvée Prestigieux Côtes-du-Rhône.
Laurent crafted Cuvée Prestigieux with Grenache and Syrah grapes cultivated along the banks of the Rhône River. The Grenache is grown not far from the famous village of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, in the stony soils on the river’s left bank, which yield powerful, full-flavored grapes. The Syrah comes from the right bank, where clay-limestone soils produce grapes with supple, intense flavors.
Laurent’s vineyards yielded pristine fruit and, therefore, a remarkable Côtes-du-Rhône. A 70-30 blend of Grenache and Syrah, Cuvée Prestigieux has bright red fruit, wild herb and black olive aromas. The elegant palate offers rich blackberry flavors, with fine, structured tannins that make it a delicious partner for roasted meats, hearty stews and other flavorful dishes.
