A few years ago, Opi Sadler’s ‘regular’ Malbec won a big trophy at the Decanter World Wine Awards: “Mouthfilling, complex and amazing value,” raved judges.

For this limited-edition Reserve, Opi (whose peers call him the Malbec ‘Magician’) hand harvested the premium fruit from select old vines in his highest vineyards, then gave the wine an extra-long, 15-month slumber in fine French and U.S. oak barrels. The result is a Malbec with serious color and depth of flavor.
With a pretty lengthy list of international accolades to its name—including 92 points and a gold medal from Gilbert & Gaillard for this release—it’s definitely a red that’s ready to make a statement. Here are the judges on what to expect in the glass:
“Deep red with ruby and dark purple glints. Elegant toasted smoke and vanilla on the nose with juicy forest fruits and spicy aromas. Tight-knit, dense palate supported by slender fruit and a refined mouthfeel. Long finish with a core of fine tannins. A shining rendition of Malbec.”
