Due to its tendency to ripen late, Carignane (aka, Carignan in France and Cariñena in Spain) has historically been relegated to red-wine blends – but it takes center stage in Late Arrival. Thanks to the Lodi region’s warm, sunny climate and excellent 2019 vintage, the Carignane grapes had ample time to ripen to perfection and develop major flavor intensity.
A lovely purple color shines through in the glass, introducing dried cranberry and red raspberry aromas. With a silky-smooth texture and lush, gently spiced finish, Late Arrival will delight with roasted duck, dark-meat turkey, or rich vegetarian dishes.
