Beyond the Label

For many Sauvignon Blanc fans, the mere mention of Pouilly-Fumé makes their mouths water. It’s one of France’s finest white wines, and Les Chemins de l’Abbaye , a tiny-batch exclusive should really elicit a thrill: it comes from a very talented winemaker, who doubles as president of the local growers’ syndicate.

Katia Mauroy-Gauliez’s quality-focused approach is known throughout the region, and during the 2021 vintage, Katia’s prime-sited, chalky, hillside vineyards produced a yield of Sauvignon Blanc grapes that had great fruit flavors, aromas and concentration.

After selecting the finest from the bunch, Katia treated the wine to kid-glove care, from the cellar to your bottle. You’re in for a complex, bone-dry white with vibrant (food-friendly) acidity, balanced by expressive citrus fruit and fresh-cut grass characters. Pair with seared pork chops topped with an herbed goat cheese-butter mixture, fresh seafood or simple goat cheese and crackers.

Limited cases available—hurry for your share.
