Beyond the Label

In the summer, the local parks and restaurants in Portugal are filled with the longing serenades of fado, the country’s legendary folk music. The fadistas (or singers) who best capture the hearts and imaginations of the people carve their place among the country’s vibrant lore.

Named after such an artist, this mouthwatering Portuguese rosé will swoon you with soaring notes of fresh summer berries and redcurrants with an enlivening lemony finish. It’s the handiwork of Jaime Quendera, a superstar in southern Portugal. He worked with the team at the renowned co-operative Pegões, which won Portuguese Wine Producer of the Year at the International Wine & Spirits Competition in back-to-back years.

Sourcing grapes from the Setúbal Peninsula, Jaime blended top native varieties Castelão, Aragonez and Touriga Nacional. This popular blend of local grapes makes an expressive, fresh, and fruity rosé. One taste and you’ll see why it earned a gold medal at the Gilbert & Gaillard International Competition.

Sip it like the locals do—with friends in the neighborhood, at the park and alongside flame-cooked fare and fresh seafood.
