Flavor Profile
“Portugal is one of the most dynamic wine-producing nations in the world today,” writes Wine Spectator. Taste the proof for yourself with this unique red blend from renowned winemaker Jaime Quendera.
Jaime is a past winner of the ‘Best Red Wine in the World’ trophy at Vinalies Internationales, so he’s no stranger to making world-class reds. For Portinho do Côvo, he selected the ripest grapes from seaside vineyards along the Península de Setúbal, located near the harbor of Port Côvo. Syrah adds berry flavors, while Aragonês (aka, Tempranillo in neighboring Spain) imparts spicy red-fruit notes and Touriga Nacional gives a deep color and rich dark-fruit characters.
Luscious, yet still elegant, Portinho do Côvo will shine with roasted red meats, hearty winter stews and more. It’s smooth enough to enjoy on its own, too. Judges at the Sunset International Wine Competition, were so impressed, they awarded it 96 points and a double-gold medal.
Portugal’s rich reds remain something of an insider’s secret for now, but that’s quickly changing. Secure your case while our limited stocks last.
