Flavor Profile
Velvet Room Reserve is a plush, complex red with layers of dark fruit flavors. It’s from Raymond Vineyards, “one of the iconic wineries of Napa,” says preeminent wine critic Robert Parker, who also believes, proprietor Jean-Charles Boisset is “pulling out all the stops to create something very special with these wines.” Don’t miss your chance to taste this incredible Napa red.
Jean-Charles and head winemaker Stephanie Putnam wanted to craft a wine that personified the winery’s “Red Room,” a luxurious space draped in red velvet from walls to couches. Only the finest grapes would do, so Stephanie chose the two varieties that thrive best in Napa’s prized Rutherford district––plummy Merlot and dark, dense Petite Sirah.
Back at the winery, she patiently aged the wine in fine French oak barrels to help it achieve its smooth, velvety texture. In the glass, you can now look forward to complex aromas of ripe dark fruits, licorice and bonbon that lead to a rich and structured palate with silky tannins and a long, decadent finish.
Whether you enjoy a bottle upon arrival or cellar it for a few years, it’s worthy of a fine meal and will make a delicious partner for roasted lamb, steak, duck breast and more.
Jean-Charles and Stephanie only made 400 cases of this exclusive Napa red—and most of them are already gone. First come, first served.
