Flavor Profile
While “less is more” holds true for many things, Round the Blend champions the case for “more is more.” Made from several grape varieties, all sourced from California’s Lodi region, this opulent, full-bodied red is far more than the sum of its parts.
Our California expert, Kristina Spencer, discovered Round the Blend at a family-owned, sustainably run winery in Lodi, “one of the top wine regions in the country,” according to vinepair.com. Given Lodi’s excellent conditions for growing a diverse range of grape varieties, it was the perfect spot for a unique red wine like this…
Round the Blend brings together several different grape varieties—Petit Verdot and Tannat impart velvety tannins and elegant structure; Petite Sirah gives rich, black-fruit flavors; Zinfandel and Merlot create a juicy mid-palate and jammy berry notes; Cabernet Sauvignon adds hints of black currant and a mineral backbone; and Pinot Noir brings a subtle floral lift and a silky texture.
The result is an incredibly easy-going, food-friendly red. Kristina recommends pairing it with everything from barbecued meats to beet and goat cheese salad to fruity desserts.
