Saserello Bianco 2019
Mario Ercolino’s Saserello red is one of our all-time favorite Sicilian reds, which inspired him to create the ultimate white version. The inaugural release won major points, and we think this zippy, lemony 2019 is every bit as impressive.
We're sorry, this wine is sold out.

But don't worry, you'll find plenty more handpicked wines here.

Beyond the Label

Mario Ercolino’s Saserello red is one of our all-time favorite Sicilian reds. It’s so popular (selling out every vintage!), Mario got inspired to craft the ultimate white version.

For this special creation, not just any grapes would do. Mario turned to two prime vineyard sites to score the perfect and best fruit – the mineral-rich soils of western Sicily and the breezy-cool southern coast. From there, he selected Chardonnay, plus zippy-fresh local stars Insolia and Catarratto (both traditionally used in Marsala) and tangy Grecanico (the same as Garganega, famed grape of Soave).

Seems Mario’s dedication to quality has (once again) paid off big time – Italy’s No. 1 critic, Luca Maroni, rated the inaugural bianco release an impressive 94 points – and we think this fresh 2019 edition is equally impressive. Look for notes of lemon blossom, combined with mature yellow fruit aromas, mingling with vibrant peach, plus a lovely apple freshness and minerality.

Wondering what to pair it with? This really is the perfect seafood white – serve alongside tomato-based Sicilian fish stews, simply roasted whole white fish, or even white pizzas topped with clams and bacon. Grilled lemony veggies, pork tenderloin, and poultry dishes would also be tasty picks.

But before you can get to dinnertime, you’ll have to Add to Cart. And do it quickly – Mario’s wines are always popular with customers and can sell out quicker than we plan for …
