The name comes from a remarkable historic site––once the location of an ancient Roman temple, reached by a winding path lined with trees (‘Sentiero dei Pini’ means ‘trail of the pines’). The hilltop also gave Roman legions the perfect vantage point before heading deep into mountainous terrain. Today, this precious plot is occupied by carefully tended Pinot Grigio vines that yield incredibly fresh whites. And Guiseppe has first pick of the grapes.
