Villa Broglia Gavi di Gavi 2023

Wine Details
Flavor Profile
Crafted in the esteemed Piedmont region and renowned for its elegance and finesse, Gavi is northern Italy’s top white wine. ‘Gavi di Gavi’ on the label denotes it was sourced from the area’s best vineyards, and Villa Broglia’s aromatic, stone fruit-inflected version is one “of the finest wines in the Gavi appellation,” according to expert Antonio Galloni.
For more than 30 years, star winemaker Donato Lanati has been keeping the family wine legacy alive, working in the cellar they established way back in 972. Villa Broglia is consistently a critic favorite, regularly receiving Tre Bicchieri (top ratings) from the Italian wine bible Gambero Rosso, while judges at the International Wine Challenge have called it “Gavi di Gavi at its best.” (For what it’s worth, the wines have also been known to fill the glasses of diplomats and popes.)
Vineyard care and low-intervention winemaking allow the estate’s prized Cortese grape to truly shine in your glass. Matured on its lees for a creamy texture and nutty richness, the wine is beautifully dry and balanced, with gentle floral aromas that introduce flavors of citrus and ripe stone fruit, and lead to a distinct almond note on the finish. It’s a perfect aperitivo and equally tasty with food. Try a well-chilled glass with fresh seafood, simple pastas or creamy risottos.
