We’ve worked with award-winning winemaker Alessandro Gallici for two decades (time flies, doesn’t it?). So to celebrate the occasion, he produced Visionario Anniversario 20YO, a special anniversary edition of his bestselling white blend, Visionario. Aromatic and richly flavored, it offers all the juicy peach, almond and floral tones we love in the original—and then some.
A native of northeastern Italy without any family ties to professional winemaking, Alessandro built a reputation as the winemaker at a large-production operation in Friuli. With our help, he was able to strike out on his own, and he’s since crafted some of our most sought-after white and sparkling bottlings .
When we first launched his Visionario—a brilliant blend of Tocai Friulano, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Gewürztraminer—we knew it’d be hugely popular. Which is why we are so excited to bring you this delicious upgrade.
It’s made with the same host of grapes, but sourced from vineyards in the hills of Collio, a small-but-mighty region that curves like a crescent moon around the Slovenian border. Because the area’s climate is moderated by the nearby Adriatic Sea and its vines are protected by the onlooking Alps, many consider this to be one of the best places in all of Italy to grow white grapes.
