Sancerre Wines

Sancerre wine comes from the Loire Valley in eastern France. The Sancerre region is world famous for its elegant white wines, which are crafted from 100% Sauvignon Blanc and showcase a crisp, dry style with bright citrus and mineral notes. Sancerre also produces a small amount of vibrant red and rosé wines from the Pinot Noir grape.

The Sancerre region has a cool climate with distinctive, geologically diverse soils, primarily Kimmeridgian limestone, flint and clay. These conditions help produce wines with vibrant freshness, aromatic intensity and minerality.

White Sancerre usually tastes crisp, dry and refreshing, with notes of citrus, green apple and sometimes white peach or fresh-cut herbs, underpinned by a distinct mineral or flinty character. Red and rosé Sancerre, made from Pinot Noir, offer vibrant red berry flavors with elegant freshness.
